Biography
German racer Kai Huckenbeck became his country's first full-time Speedway GP rider for 10 years when he lined up in the 2024 series.
Following in the footsteps of 2014 FIM New Zealand Speedway GP winner Martin Smolinski, Huckenbeck took on the best in the world after scoring 11 points from three SGP appearances in 2023.
After receiving a Speedway GP wild card from the SGP Commission, he raced to 12th place in the Speedway GP World Championship in 2024, reaching three semi-finals along the way, as well as leading Germany to an historic fourth place at the 2024 FIM Speedway of Nations Final in Manchester on July 13 - the country's best result of the 21st century.
He gets the chance to build on that campaign after receiving another permanent wild card from the SGP Commission for 2025.
