Biography
Latvia's first-ever Speedway GP rider, Andzejs Lebedevs makes his full World Championship debut after receiving a permanent wild card from the SGP Commission.
The Daugavpils-born racer won the 2017 Speedway European Championship, before taking his country to new heights by leading them into the 2021 FIM Speedway of Nations Final in Manchester. He led them to a second Final at Britain's National Speedway Stadium in 2024.
After reaching the 2022 FIM Torun Speedway GP semi-finals as a substitute rider, Lebedevs earned the first reserve spot for the 2023 SGP series, scoring 31 points from five rounds. Despite a difficult start to his SGP debut season in 2024, Lebedevs raced into form, becoming Latvia's first-ever Speedway GP finalist in Vojens on September 14.
He then secured his spot in the 2025 Speedway GP series a week later by winning his second Speedway European Championship in Chorzow on September 21. Now Latvia's Speedway GP pioneer bids to take his career to another level.
