American racer Luke Becker led the Vikings charge on 11 points as Esbjerg were crowned Danish Speedwayligaen champions in Vojens on Wednesday.
In a tight Super Final title fight, Esbjerg prevailed on 36 points, beating Vojens team Sønderjylland Elite Speedway (34), Slangerup (32) and Holsted (29).
Becker was the hero for the Vikings, with Matias Nielsen backing him up on nine points, hometown favourite Niels-Kristian Iversen adding eight and Jonas Jeppesen scoring seven. SGP2 star Emil Breum added one.
DeluxeHomeart FIM Speedway GP of Denmark – Vojens winner Leon Madsen followed up his weekend SGP heroics at the iconic venue by top-scoring on 14 points for SES, with Benjamin Basso racing to 13.
Speedway GP rider Mikkel Michelsen was Slangerup’s star man on 12 points, with Andreas Lyager supporting him on 11.
Saturday’s Speedway GP wild card Rasmus Jensen led the score chart for Holsted on 13 points, with SGP2 track reserve sensation Bastian Pedersen scoring nine.
His uncle, triple world champion Nicki Pedersen, registered four points on what could be his last meeting for the Tigers as he is set to part company with the club at the end of the season.
