Speedway's original team final comes to Warsaw's iconic PGE Narodowy in 2026
Get ready for the biggest speedway world team event of the 21st century as the 2026 FIM Speedway World Cup Final comes to Warsaw's famous PGE Narodowy.
Staged every three years, the FIM SWC sees the sport's biggest nations battle it out for the Ove Fundin Trophy.
After a six-year break, the FIM Speedway World Cup returned to the calendar in sensational style in Wroclaw in July 2023, as hosts Poland retained the FIM SWC title – but they were forced to fight all the way.
Semi-Final 1 winners Great Britain took the fight to the Poles in their own back yard and looked the favourites to win their first world title over the four-team World Cup format since 1989.
But in an epic last-heat decider, Wroclaw hero Maciej Janowski broke British hearts as he sealed the trophy for Poland – sending a frenzied roar pulsing through the historic Olympic Stadium.
Janowski watched the Polish team win their first FIM SWC world title from the Wroclaw terraces on August 6, 2005 – his 14th birthday. And he joined forces with captain Bartosz Zmarzlik, Patryk Dudek, Dominik Kubera and Janusz Kolodziej to make it a record-breaking ninth title 18 years on.
It was the closest FIM SWC Final in history as Poland triumphed on 33 points, with Great Britain taking silver on 31, while a late surge from Denmark earned them bronze on 29, with Australia fourth on 27.
With just six points separating the sides, it’s a Final that will be talked about for generations to come. Bring on Warsaw 2026!
