Grindsted has been unveiled as host of the Danish Championship Final on August 7, 2024.

Speedway GP star Mikkel Michelsen won his first national title at Slangerup last summer and will defend the crown at the new home club of triple Speedway GP world champion and national team manager Nicki Pedersen, who has seven Danish titles to his name.

It’s the first time in the competition’s long history that the champion will be crowned in Grinsted.

Club director Christian Hundebøll said: “We are incredibly happy with the recognition of being awarded the Danish Final. It shows we are on the right track with our ambitions, as well as being a huge pat on the back for the tremendous efforts of our volunteers and our hosting of the Speedwayligaen Semi-Finals this year.

“We have ambitions to reach out really widely to many audiences with the event, so that new speedway fans can also join.

“Of course, we hope that our good cooperation with Billund municipality continues with the Danish Final. In addition, we will work on ensuring the Danish Final can be streamed just like last year, so that you can also watch at home from your living room.”

Meanwhile in the Speedwayligaen, Vojens team Sønderjylland Elite Speedway has added Polish rider Marcin Nowak to its squad, while Esbjerg has promoted academy graduate Niklas Holm Jakobsen into its 2024 team.
