BECKER BACK WITH DANISH CHAMPIONS ESBJERG
30/12/2023

American international Luke Becker is bidding to win back-to-back Danish Speedwayligaen titles with Esbjerg after extending his stay into 2024.
Becker played a pivotal role in the Vikings topping the podium this year – a season which also saw him make his FIM Speedway Grand Prix debut in Torun on September 30.
The FIM North America champion is pleased to be back for a third season, having also raced in Esbjerg colours in 2019.
He said: “I am really looking forward to being a part of Esbjerg Vikings again next year. This will be my third season with the club, and I have had nothing but good memories since I´ve joined.
“The club taking the gold in 2023 was a great feeling, and we will do everything possible to repeat that this coming season.
“Everybody involved has really made me feel at home when in Denmark, and that in itself is a really good feeling. I hope everyone in and around the club has a very Happy New Year, and I will see you all next year!”
Esbjerg team leader Tom Paarup Madsen was pleased with how Becker slotted back into the side after three seasons away.
He said: “He’s a rider who, after helping to win silver in 2019, entered the team this season as if he had never been away.
“He had some really good rides and fits perfectly on the team both as a person, but also with the average he came in on.
“We're super excited that Luke will be part of the squad again in 2024. He loves riding for Esbjerg, and we have to say that most spectators at Granly Speedway Arena are also a bit in love with him.”
Becker will also compete for Sports Insure Premiership side Leicester in the UK, as well as racing for Vastervik in Sweden’s Bauhaus Elitserien and Lodz in Poland’s Speedway Ekstraliga 2 – formerly known as the First Division.
