Biography

Just 12 months after Great Britain hero Robert Lambert ended his country’s 32-year wait for a world team title at the 2021 FIM Speedway of Nations Final in Manchester, he became world No.5 in 2022. Lambert’s 2020 Speedway European Championship win made him the first rider to qualify automatically for the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series by winning the continental championship. He enjoyed a solid Speedway GP debut season in 2021, ending the year 10th. But he took things to another level in 2022, reaching his first podiums as he finished second in Vojens and third in Wroclaw. He even came within four laps of a second straight FIM SON gold medal with Dan Bewley as Australia broke GB hearts in the Grand Final at Vojens. But Lambert can be proud of securing automatic qualification for the first time and second place at the season opener in Croatia will help his chances of launching a medal challenge in 2023.
