Mikkel Michelsen

Danish star Mikkel Michelsen picked up his first-ever Speedway GP victory in Landshut in 2024, having qualified for the series by racing to his third Speedway European Championship in 2023. With Michelsen also reaching finals in Gorzow and Wroclaw, he was firmly in the hunt for a 2024 Speedway GP World Championship medal - until his campaign was ended by multiple injuries suffered at the OlyBet FIM Speedway GP of Latvia - Riga on September 7. Michelsen's absence saw him slip from fourth to seventh in the final standings, missing out on automatic qualification. But he is back for 2025 after receiving a permanent wild card from the SGP Commission. Can he mount a podium push in 2025?
