Great Britain hero Dan Bewley wrote his name in British speedway folklore when he ended the nation's 15-year wait for an FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Cardiff winner on August 13, 2022. The big results just kept on coming as he won the 2022 FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Wroclaw on his PGE Ekstraliga home track just two weeks later, before adding 2023 FIM Speedway GP of Sweden - Malilla gold to his trophy haul. Bewley wrote his name in GB history when he helped the Lions to FIM Speedway of Nations world-title gold in Manchester in October 2021 – their first world team title since 1989. He made it two world team titles in three years for GB at the 2024 FIM Speedway of Nations - also staged on his British home track Manchester on July 13. Victory at the 2024 FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain - Cardiff, which saw him lead an historic one-two with Robert Lambert, sparked his late-season surge to a career-best fourth place in the Speedway GP World Championship.
