Five-time Speedway GP world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik raced to 13 points as the Polish national side stepped up its FIM Speedway of Nations preparations with a 53-36 win over a Rest of the World team in Rzeszow on Saturday.
Aussie star Keynan Rew was the only opponent to get the better of Zmarzlik over five rides as he warms up for next weekend’s ATPI FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Manchester double-header on Friday and Saturday.
He was backed up by 11 paid 12-point tallies from SGP2 champion Wiktor Przyjemski and Piotr Pawlicki, with world No.2 Patryk Dudek scoring 10 paid 12 points and Dominik Kubera adding eight paid nine.
Great Britain’s Dan Bewley top-scored for the Rest of the World team on 11 points, with SGP rival Mikkel Michelsen registering seven paid eight and triple world champion Nicki Pedersen scoring a straight seven.
The Poles have been seeded into the FIM SON Final in Torun on October 4 and will hope to win the tournament when they face the top three teams from the two Semi-Finals on September 30 and October 1.
