Australian shooting star Keynan Rew will race for Vojens club Sønderjylland Elite Speedway in the 2024 Danish Speedwayligaen.

Rew raced to fourth place in this season’s FIM SGP2 standings, falling just a point short of a medal as he scored 11 championship points at the Jørgen Hansen Biler FIM SGP2 of Denmark – Vojens.

The former Region Varde star’s efforts in Denmark’s top flight have caught the attention of SES bosses, and Rew is happy to take on a busy 2024 schedule by racing on in Denmark.

He said: “I really like riding in Denmark, where I feel comfortable. At the same time, I am the type of rider who is best at doing many races and being busy when the season starts.”

Rew is also gunning for a place in the FIM SGP2 series as he bids to join the likes of 2016 World Under-21 champion Max Fricke and 2020 winner Jaimon Lidsey in the club of recent Aussie world junior champions. “Next year will be my last in SGP2,” he added. “I will try to get a medal for Australia.”

Elsewhere, Slangerup has confirmed that 2022 FIM SGP3 runner-up Villads Nagel will line up in their colours for 2024.
