LINE-UPS CONFIRMED FOR SGP3 SEMI-FINALS IN TETEROW
20/06/2024

The FIM Speedway Youth World Championship Semi-Finals take place in Teterow this Saturday as riders battle it out for places at the FIM SGP3 Final in Gorzow on June 28.
As part of their vision to develop and shine a spotlight on the sport’s future stars, FIM Speedway global promoter Warner Bros. Discovery Sports took the 250cc under-16 world championship final under the SGP umbrella in 2022.
Since then, the FIM SGP3 competition has delivered some of the most exciting racing on the international speedway calendar.
With 2023 champion Rasmus Karlsson of Sweden no longer competing at this level, a new champion will be crowned at Gorzow’s Edward Jancarz Stadium – the night before the ISS FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Gorzow on June 29.
Eight riders from each semi-final will take their place in the FIM SGP3 Final next week and a number of familiar faces will be in the running at the Bergring Arena on Saturday.
Last year’s SGP3 runner-up Maksymilian Pawelczak of Poland has been drawn into Semi-Final 1, where he meets Slovenian sensation Sven Cerjak, who was sixth in 2023, as well as 2023 finalists Villads Pedersen of Denmark, Cooper Rushen of Great Britain and Leo Klasson of Sweden.
Last year’s SGP4 winner Elias Jamil from Denmark makes the step up to 250cc level in Semi-Final 2 and will hope to make his mark against a stellar field, which features Great Britain shooting star William Cairns, who was fifth in 2023 and has received regular coaching from Speedway GP great Greg Hancock as he goes for gold in 2024.
Australian racer Beau Bailey, who won Semi-Final 1 in 2023, is also in the second semi along with 2023 SGP4 rider Karel Prusa of the Czech Republic and American star Kensei Matsudaira, who has appeared in the past two SGP4 competitions.
The two SGP3 Semi-Finals will be followed by an historic meeting as a busy day in Teterow concludes with the FIM Women’s Speedway Gold Trophy on Saturday evening.
