GUSTS & IVERSEN COMPLETE VARGARNA SIDE
22/12/2023
Latvian racer Francis Gusts and Denmark’s former world No.3 Niels-Kristian Iversen have completed moves to Swedish side Vargarna.
Gusts made his FIM Speedway Grand Prix debut in this year’s OlyBet FIM Speedway GP of Latvia – Riga and also helped his country win DeWalt FIM Speedway of Nations – SON2 bronze in the Latvian capital. That was the country’s first world team medal of any kind and the 2022 and 2023 SGP2 rider now looks set to emerge as one of Vargarna’s key riders as they make the move up from the Allsvenskan League.
Iversen also completed a move to the Wolves this week and the four-time FIM Speedway World Cup winner can’t wait to lead the team into Bauhaus Elitserien action.
He said: "I am excited to race for Vargarna in 2024. I've raced the track several times, but it's many years since I was there. It's good that Vargarna is back in the Elitserien, and I am happy to be a part of the new team.”
The pair join forces with 2021 World Under-21 champion Jakub Miskowiak, former Speedway GP star Chris Harris, 2022 SGP2 rider Kevin Juhl Pedersen, Polish riders Adrian Cyfer, Mateusz Tonder and Marcin Nowak, plus Swedish racers Daniel Henderson, Ludvig Lindgren, Oscar Holstensson, Christopher Selvin and Willy Andersson.
