Speedway GP first reserve Max Fricke racked up a sensational 16 paid 17 points for Grudziadz, but it wasn’t enough to save them from 48-42 loss away to his old club Zielona Gora on Sunday.

Falubaz picked up their first victory since their PGE Ekstraliga return with former world No.2 Jaroslaw Hampel leading the way on 11 points, with former Danish champion Rasmus Jensen scoring eight paid 10. Piotr Pawlicki picked up eight, while Speedway GP newcomer Jan Kvech scored five paid six.

Fricke produced a sublime display for the visitors, winning five of his six heats, with Hampel the only opponent to beat him in heat 11.

Vadim Tarasenko collected 10 paid 13 points, with former World Under-21 champion Jaimon Lidsey tallying 10. Aussie star Jason Doyle endured a difficult return to one of his old clubs, scoring four.

The day’s other meeting between Czestochowa and Wroclaw was postponed due to rain.
