Polish star Dominik Kubera heads into the Orlen FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Warsaw in red-hot form after racing to 14 points as Lublin romped to a 51-39 victory away to Czestochowa in the PGE Ekstraliga on Sunday.

Kubera bids to become Poland’s first home winner at PGE Narodowy this Saturday and he goes into the nation’s biggest speedway event buoyed by a big performance against the Lions.

Four-time Speedway GP world champion also dropped just one point to an opponent, scoring 12 paid 14 as he bids to better the third place he achieved in Warsaw last year.

Last year’s Warsaw winner Fredrik Lindgren tallied 10, with current FIM Speedway GP World Championship leader Jack Holder scoring seven paid nine.

Danish racer Leon Madsen was Czestochowa’s leading scorer on 12 from six rides, with Mikkel Michelsen notching eight paid nine.

In the day’s other meeting, Slovak star Martin Vaculik racked up 13 points away to his old club Zielona Gora to lead their arch-rivals Gorzow to a 49-41 victory.

Vaculik was well supported by 11 paid 13-point hauls from both Speedway GP star Szymon Wozniak and Anders Thomsen. Former SGP rider Piotr Pawlicki was Zielona Gora’s top scorer on 10.
