Aussie ace Jason Doyle pipped Bartosz Zmarzlik to victory in the rain-curtailed Bronisław Idzikowski and Marek Czerny Memorial meeting in Czestochowa on Saturday – after they were forced to draw lots for first place.

The Speedway GP duo finished on eight points from three rides – registering two wins and a second place each.

Given that the pair had yet to meet each other, they could not be separated on countback. As a result, they were forced into speedway’s rarely-used equivalent of drawing straws, and it was Doyle who got lucky.

World No.5 and Czestochowa star Leon Madsen was placed third on seven points, with local star Maksym Drabik and in-form Aussie racer Brady Kurtz both collecting six.

Czestochowa star Mikkel Michelsen scored five, along with former Lions rider Fredrik Lindgren, Kacper Woryna and Norbert Krakowiak.
