Speedway GP star Mikkel Michelsen has extended his stay with “home” club Slangerup into 2024.

Michelsen has long been associated with Slangerup and is ready to build on a season which saw him win his first Danish Championship, as well as landing a third Speedway European Championship to secure his spot in Speedway GP for next season.

The Dane, who will also compete for Czestochowa in Poland’s PGE Ekstraliga, said: “Happy to announce I’ll represent Slangerup again in 2024.

“It’s where it all started and a place that I consider home. This year was a tough season in many ways for us, but we still came away with a bronze medal that we can all be proud of. I’m looking forward to the new season and hopefully getting that championship back.”

Elsewhere, Speedway GP newcomer Andzejs Lebedevs is set for a third straight season as part of Fjelsted’s squad in 2024, with the club confirming he will be called into the side when his commitments allow.
