BREUM SIGNS TWO-YEAR DEAL WITH DANISH CHAMPIONS ESBJERGBREUM SIGNS TWO-YEAR DEAL WITH DANISH CHAMPIONS ESBJERG

FIM SGP2 star Emil Breum admits it was an easy call to turn down other offers and sign a two-year contract extension with Danish champions Esbjerg.

Breum enjoyed a stellar season in 2023 – racing to the Danish Under-21 Championship and eighth place in the FIM SGP2 series. He also helped Esbjerg win the Danish Speedwayligaen crown at Vojens on September 20.

While his under-21 days are now behind him, Breum looks forward to stepping up as a senior star for the Vikings over the next two years – despite receiving offers from elsewhere.

He said: “Although there has been interest from other clubs, which is of course nice that people have noticed me, it was actually not a difficult choice.

“I have always had a good time in Esbjerg, and I am really happy to be at the club, and the club suits me really well. I feel like I'm making good starts here and riding fast.

“I've been happy to be part of the team, and it was of course a mega cool experience to win the Super Final in Vojens.

“I am looking forward to stepping out of the role as an under-21 rider, and I am completely ready to take on the fight and fight even harder for my place on the team.”

Elsewhere, DeluxeHomeart FIM Danish Speedway GP wild card Rasmus Jensen and Danish sensation Bastian Pedersen have both penned three-year contracts with Holsted.

Team manager Lars Munkedal is backing Jensen to serve as the club’s top gun following the departure of long-time Holsted hero Nicki Pedersen.

He said: "Rasmus Jensen is our clear No.1 – a place he also filled most of the 2023 season and we have great faith in Rasmus as the new team captain. Rasmus is already the team captain of Swedish club Dackarna from Målilla, with whom he won the Swedish championship earlier this season.

“Bastian has impressed tremendously in the 2023 season, when he became better match by match.”

Danish international Frederik Jakobsen agreed terms with Fjelsted for 2024, joining new signing Benjamin Basso in the side.
