French racer Dimitri Berge has secured a deadline-day stay with Swedish side Rospiggarna.

Berge joined the Hallstavik club in 2023 – a year which saw him impress for the French national team as they made their first Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup appearance, reaching the Race Off in Wroclaw.

The former FIM Long Track world champion is joined in completing the Rospiggarna squad by Polish duo Jakub Jamrog and Sebastian Szostak, with the trio completing their deals on Thursday's transfer deadline day.

Berge admits penning a new contract was an easy call to make. He said: “I enjoyed myself in Rospiggarna last year, so it was an easy decision to stay. Already at the end of last year's season, I felt that I wanted to come back here, so I'm happy that it's now done.”

They are joined in the squad by Speedway GP newcomer Kai Huckenbeck, plus former SGP winner Antonio Lindback, two-time FIM SON2 gold medallist Wiktor Przyjemski, Victor Palovaara, Oskar Polis, Dante Johansson and Jonny Eriksson.

Elsewhere, Piraterna has added another Polish star to its 2024 squad by recruiting Norbert Krakowiak.

He links up with former Speedway GP regulars Maciej Janowski, brothers Przemyslaw and Piotr Pawlicki and Pawel Przedpelski, plus Czech charger Vaclav Milik, Oskar Fajfer, Jakub Krawczyk, Jonathan Einermark, Ludvig Selvin and Erik Persson.
