Swedish star Oliver Berntzon roared to 12 paid 13 points as title favourites Lejonen launched their Bauhaus Elitserien season with a 52-38 victory at home to Rospiggarna on Tuesday.

The former Speedway GP star delivered three wins for his boyhood club, and was well supported by his new team mate – double world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik, who tallied 12 of his own.

Speedway GP star Patryk Dudek weighed in with 10 paid 12 and French international Dimitri Berge bagged eight paid nine.

Swedish rider Victor Palovaara topped the Rospiggarna scorechart on 11, with Speedway GP first reserve Andzejs Lebedevs notching nine paid 11.

Elsewhere, former world No.6 Piotr Pawlicki powered to 15 paid 17 points as Piraterna defeated last year’s champions Dackarna 46-44 in a Motala thriller.

Pawlicki followed partner Jakub Jamrog to a priceless 5-1 over Dackarna duo Jacob Thorssell and Rasmus Jensen in heat 15 to seal the points. Oskar Fajfer also starred for the hosts on 14.

Swedish international Thorssell was Dackarna’s best performer on 10, while Brady Kurtz and Jensen added eight paid nine each. Speedway GP star Maciej Janowski scored seven.

In the day’s other meeting, 2012 world champion Chris Holder continued his sublime start to 2022 by bagging 13 points to lead Indianerna to a 47-43 win at home to Masarna.

He was well supported by nine paid 12 from Niels-Kristian Iversen, while David Bellego registered nine paid 10. Speedway GP rider Max Fricke added eight points.

Polish star Krzysztof Buczkowski starred on 16 points for Masarna, with Rohan Tungate collecting 10 paid 11 and Przemyslaw Pawlicki accruing eight paid nine.
