Welcome to SGP2

The FIM Speedway under-21 World Championship Series!

For the first time ever in 2022, Warner Bros. Discovery Sports teamed up with the FIM to bring all of the FIM Speedway World Championship events together in a brand-new pyramid system, helping young riders race their way from grassroots to senior level.

SGP2 gives the world’s top under-21 riders a dream opportunity to share the spotlight with the FIM Speedway Grand Prix stars as they stake their claim to be part of the FIM Speedway GP World Championship in the future.

The inaugural SGP2 season saw Poland’s Mateusz Cierniak storm to junior speedway’s biggest prize in an exciting three-round series.

The 2023 series visits Prague’s historic Marketa Stadium on Friday, June 2 – taking place 24 hours before the 29th staging of the FIM Speedway GP of Czech Republic – Prague on Saturday, June 3.

Gorzow’s iconic Edward Jancarz Stadium in Poland hosts round two on Friday, June 23 – the day before the FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Gorzow on Saturday, June 24.

The 2023 SGP2 World Under-21 champion will then be crowned at the famous Vojens Speedway Center in Denmark on Friday, September 15, as the young guns race in the tyre treads of riders like Tony Rickardsson and Greg Hancock, who have been crowned world champion in Vojens. That huge double-header is capped off by the FIM Speedway GP of Denmark – Vojens on Saturday, September 16.

Sixteen riders will compete in each round with the majority of the riders making it via the qualifiers staged across Europe. The line-up will then be completed by wild cards chosen by the SGP Commission.

Enjoy a glimpse of tomorrow’s Speedway GP stars and two days of fast and furious action when SGP2 comes to Prague, Gorzow and Vojens in 2023!
