Biography

Sweden’s Freddie Lindgren has cemented his position as his country’s top rider since returning to the World Championship full-time in 2017. The double Swedish champion has stormed to two Speedway GP bronze medals to establish himself as a regular world-title contender and defied his battle with long Covid to claim an impressive fourth place in the 2022 Speedway GP series – tying on 103 points with fifth-placed Robert Lambert, but finishing higher by virtue of having more third places. Lindgren has scored more Speedway GP World Championship points, made more Speedway GP appearances and raced more Speedway GP heats than any other member of the 2023 line-up. He’s also now Speedway GP’s all-time top-scoring Swedish rider. After a testing time with his health in recent years, the 2015 FIM Speedway World Cup winner will hope to complete his quest for Speedway GP World Championship gold with a clean bill of health in 2023. Victory at round two in Warsaw certainly boosted his chances.
