Great Britain hero Dan Bewley wrote his name into the history books when he helped his country to FIM Speedway of Nations world-title glory last October.
And now he gets his chance to shine in Speedway GP after Artem Laguta and Emil Sayfutdinov’s licences were suspended by the FIM until further notice – promoting second substitute Bewley into the line-up.
Bewley has proved more than a match for the sport’s biggest names in recent seasons, helping Polish club Wroclaw end their 15-year wait for a PGE Ekstraliga championship in 2021, as well as leading Belle Vue to the SGB Premiership Grand Final.
But the huge high point of Bewley’s career so far was his FIM SON triumph with GB in Manchester. With Woffinden injured on day one of the Final, Bewley stepped up to partner Lambert on day two, culminating in their 5-4 Grand Final win over Poland as the Lions celebrated their first world team title since 1989.
There are few things more spectacular in speedway than Bewley on the charge, and now he gets the chance to take his promising career to the next level.
