WOFFINDEN TAKES HIS FIRST STEPS TO RECOVERY
14/04/2025

Triple Speedway GP world champion Tai Woffinden has shared footage of himself beginning his road to recovery.
The Great Britain racer crashed out of Polish club Rzeszow’s sparring match away to Krosno on March 30 and was airlifted to hospital, where he underwent multiple operations and spent five days in an induced coma.
Woffinden posted a video to Instagram and Facebook with wife Faye at his side, showing him taking some laps of his hospital room with the aid of a walking frame as he starts his road to recovery.
He also revealed the full extent of the injuries he suffered in the first-turn fall. Woffinden posted: “Ten days post coma – just doing a few laps!
"Injury list: Double compound right femur fracture (pinned and bolted), Broken back, TH9 plated and screwed to TH8 and TH10, Right humorous compound fracture, Lost 3l of blood and had a transfusion, Dislocated and smashed right elbow, 12 broken ribs, punctured lung, left broken shoulder blade, dislocated left shoulder. Wild typing all that out. Think that’s about it.”
In a previous social media post Woffinden said: “Turns out my injuries and an induced coma ain’t no joke. I’m on the mend, please bear with me for now. I just need a little more time to rest.”
