WOFFINDEN: I'M ON THE MEND

Triple Speedway GP world champion Tai Woffinden insisted “I’m on the mend” after taking to social media to update fans on his condition.

The Great Britain hero was airlifted to hospital after crashing out of new Polish club Rzeszow’s sparring match away to Krosno on March 30.

Posting on Facebook on Sunday morning, Woffinden uploaded an image of him smiling from his hospital bed.

He wrote: “Hey guys, turns out my injuries and an induced coma ain’t no joke. I’m on the mend, but please bear with me for now. I just need a little more time to rest and gather my thoughts. I’ll update you all later on in the week. 

“Please know how much I appreciate everyone’s love and support from all over the world.”
