VOJENS RETURN FOR SKIPPER THOMSEN
24/10/2024

Returning Speedway GP star Anders Thomsen is back with Vojens club Sonderjylland Elite Speedway for 2025 and insists he “can't imagine being anywhere else in the Danish league.”
Thomsen captained the team to third place in this year’s Danish Speedwayligaen and has become a popular figure at Vojens Speedway Center – venue for the Deluxe Homeart FIM Speedway GP of Denmark – Vojens.
His return to SES means he will have home advantage for the final Speedway GP of 2025, on a high-stakes weekend when three champions will be crowned, with SGP2 action on Friday, September 12 and the Speedway GP and SGP4 events on Saturday, September 13.
Thomsen secured his return to the Speedway GP line-up with second place at the FIM SGP Challenge in Pardubice on October 4 and, as he prepares for his SGP comeback after a season away, he’s also looking forward to captaining SES. He said: “I have been with SES since the beginning and can't imagine being anywhere else in the Danish league.
“We had a frustrating start to the season with seven defeats in a row, but still made it through the semi-finals and ended up with bronze. Normally I'm not crazy about bronze, but this particular one has a special place in my heart.”
Thomsen is not expecting a testing time as captain in 2025. He added: “I think we have a good team, and an excellent mix of experience and young talent, so I don't need to run around the pit area and play boss. Together with the team managers, we are good at giving each other support and good advice, so I am already looking forward to a new season, where SES will have a better start than we had this year.”
