SWEDISH DEAL FOR DRABIKSWEDISH DEAL FOR DRABIK

Double FIM Speedway Under-21 world champion Maksym Drabik is determined to storm back into form in Sweden after signing for Smederna for 2025.

The Polish racer first lined up for the Eskilstuna team in 2023, replacing the retiring Pontus Aspgren.

Despite a strong start to his Smederna career, he endured a difficult 2024 campaign. It’s a season he is keen to bounce back from as he returns to Eskilstuna next year.

He told the club’s official website: “I want to stay at Smederna because I enjoy the club very much and I also want to give back after this season.

“I have made big changes to the team and have hired two new experienced mechanics, as well as a team manager who will make sure everything around works, so that I only have to focus on racing. In addition to this, I will also invest in new equipment.”

Smederna boss Jerker Eriksson commented: “It was a difficult season for him and he couldn't do himself justice, which affected both his riding and us as a club. However, Maksym is really excited for 2025 and wants to show what he can do. He has an incredible top level, and we feel that it will be an asset for us next season.”

Drabik joins forces with the likes of former world No.2 Leon Madsen, former Speedway GP star Kim Nilsson, Aussie shooting star Ben Cook, SGP2 duo Mathias Pollestad and Philip Hellstrom-Bangs, Joel Andersson and Anton Jansson.
