SEASON NO.16 IN SLANGERUP FOR MICHELSEN
22/11/2024
Danish racer Mikkel Michelsen will spend his 16th season with Danish Speedwayligaen champions Slangerup in 2025.
Michelsen has been the club’s leader for much of his career but was forced to sit out their title triumph at the end of last year after suffering multiple injuries in the OlyBet FIM Speedway GP of Latvia – Riga on September 7.
But the triple Speedway European champion is back to help the team defend its title. Posting on Facebook, Slangerup’s team management stated: "We are super happy to be able to announce Mikkel's extension, and to work with Mikkel again for next year.
“Mikkel has been riding in Slangerup his entire career and we are working to keep it that way. Mikkel always makes a professional effort and fights to the end to win.
"With Mikkel in the squad, we will soon have all the riders for the next season, and we are looking forward to working with the squad we have assembled.”
Michelsen joins forces with former Speedway GP winner Michael Jepsen Jensen, Polish stars Pawel Przedpelski and Bartlomiej Kowalski, and Danish riders Andreas Lyager, Jonas Seifert-Salk, William Drejer and Marcus Birkemose, with one more signing to come.
