Former Danish champion Rasmus Jensen and Swedish internationals Jacob Thorssell and Timo Lahti lead Holsted into action in Denmark’s Speedwayligaen in 2025.

Jensen took over as Tigers top gun from triple world champion Nicki Pedersen, who departed the team last winter.

The former FIM Speedway GP of Denmark – Vojens semi-finalist returns to the club that will stage the 2025 FIM SGP Challenge on August 9, when the top four riders qualify for the 2026 Speedway GP World Championship.

He is joined in the squad by FIM Speedway of Nations bronze medallist Thorssell and Lahti, a former FIM SON finalist with Finland, who recently switched international allegiances to Sweden.

The Holsted squad also includes Danish racer Rene Bach and former SGP2 riders Kevin Juhl Pedersen and Bastian Pedersen. Dimitri Buch completes the Tigers squad.

Elsewhere, former World Under-21 champion Bartosz Smektala has signed for Grindsted, and he hopes the move will offer some much-needed bike time.

He said: "Last season was difficult for me. I couldn't find my form and I had less and less riding. That's why in the upcoming season I'm glad that I'm also joining a great club in Denmark.

"This will give me more opportunities to start. In speedway, in order to become better, you have to ride as much as possible. In the winter I made a lot of important changes in myself, in my team, in preparations, and I've also had talks with tuners. All of this together should bring the results, so that I can return to how I can ride.

"The contract with Grindsted is very important to me. I've had contracts in Denmark so far but little chance to ride. Now in Grindsted, I hope there will be many more chances to ride because I really like the atmosphere of Danish speedway; I feel good there. See you on the track next season!"
