FALUBAZ SIGNS TALENTED TRIO
01/12/2025

Denmark’s SGP3 champion Villads Pedersen, British shooting star Will Cairns and American talent Slater Lightcap have all signed two-year deals with Polish side Zielona Gora.
Pedersen powered to victory in the FIM Speedway Youth World Championship event at Prague’s Marketa Stadium in May, marking him out as one of Danish and world speedway’s riders to watch.
With his 16th birthday approaching on April 9, he will be eligible for 500cc competition in Poland – either racing in the Under-24 Ekstraliga, or possibly Falubaz’s PGE Ekstraliga side.
Cairns, who won SGP3 bronze in 2024, will also hope to take his place in the Zielona Gora side as he develops into one of Britain’s most promising riders. He has already been confirmed in British Championship club Poole’s starting line-up for 2026, having helped them to a league and Knockout Cup double this season.
Meanwhile, Lightcap has emerged as one of the USA’s hottest prospects and appeared in the 2024 SGP2 series.
All three riders have been mentored by American legend Greg Hancock – a four-time Speedway GP world champion.
Zielona Gora president Adam Golinski commented: "These are not random transfers. They are a consistent implementation of our long-term strategy, which involves building a strong and stable Falubaz for years to come.
“We are investing in young riders who have already achieved success in the youth ranks and who want to develop under the guidance of our coaches and alongside top-tier seniors.”
Coach Grzegorz Walasek added: "We're delighted that Will, Villads and Slater have chosen our offer. We've been observing their development and see enormous potential. This is an investment in Falubaz's future.
“We want to provide them with the best conditions for development, so that in the near future they can be a key force in our team, not only in youth competitions, but also in the fight for league points.”
