13/08/2024
Great Britain racer Robert Lambert continued his red-hot scoring heading into the FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Cardiff with a 10 paid 12-point maximum for Vastervik in Sweden’s Bauhaus Elitserien on Tuesday.
Lambert was one of five riders who roared into double figures as the coastal club thumped Vargarna 64-26. This result left them tied on 31 points at the top of the table after the regular round of matches, but Lejonen pipped Vastervik to top spot with a superior points difference.
Lambert has been racking up maximums in both Sweden and Poland and the double FIM Speedway of Nations world champion will hope to bring that form into Britain’s biggest indoor motorsport event this Saturday.
American ace Luke Becker led the Vastervik score chart on 12 paid 13 points, with double Swedish champion Jacob Thorssell racing to 10 paid 13; Aussie star Max Fricke collecting 10 paid 12, and Poland’s Bartosz Smektala bagging 10 paid 11 points.
Former World Under-21 champion Jakub Miskowiak led the scoring for basement club Vargarna on 14.
Table-topping Lejonen racked up a huge score in the absence of Speedway GP duo Bartosz Zmarzlik and Dominik Kubera. Aussie racer Jaimon Lidsey collected a 15 paid 18-point maximum as the Lions mauled Rospiggarna 69-21 in Gislaved.

Former Speedway GP world champion Artem Laguta was the Hallstavik team’s top performer on nine.

Aside from a retirement in his opener, Chugunov went unbeaten, with former world No.2 Patryk Dudek totalling 10 paid 11, Speedway GP star Szymon Wozniak notching nine and Cardiff wild card Tom Brennan adding five.
