Polish international Patryk Dudek led the Torun charge on 13 paid 14 points as they defied a 14-point haul from Danish racer Leon Madsen to win 49-41 at home to Czestochowa in the PGE Ekstraliga on Sunday evening.

Dudek dropped just one point to an opponent from five rides as Torun moved into fourth place in the standings. He was backed up by former world No.3 Emil Sayfutdinov, who scored 12 paid 13 points, with Speedway GP star Robert Lambert notching nine.

In addition to Madsen’s 14-point haul from six races, Polish star Kacper Woryna tallied 10 paid 11 for the Lions, with European champion Mikkel Michelsen adding nine paid 10.

In Sunday’s other match, Leszno kept their PGE Ekstraliga survival hopes very much alive as former Speedway GP winner Janusz Kolodziej scored 14 paid 15 points from six rides to inspire them to a 47-43 win at home to Wroclaw, which leaves them just a point adrift of seventh-placed Zielona Gora at the bottom of the table.

Kolodziej was backed up by a 10-point tally from Latvian ace Andzejs Lebedevs, with Aussie shooting star Ben Cook notching nine.

Wroclaw went into the match without injured British duo Tai Woffinden and Dan Bewley. Former Speedway GP world champion Artem Laguta topped their score chart on 10, with SGP2 rider Francis Gusts picking up nine paid 11.

In Friday’s matches, Aussie racer Max Fricke racked up 12 paid 13 points for Grudziadz as they held on for a narrow 46-44 victory at home to Gorzow.

Fricke was well supported by a 10 paid 11-point contribution from Vadim Tarasenko and 10 from former Speedway GP winner Michael Jepsen Jensen, with 2020 World Under-21 champion Jaimon Lidsey adding eight paid 10.

Danish racer Anders Thomsen topped the Gorzow scoring on 12, with young gun Oskar Paluch adding 10 paid 11. Martin Vaculik scored six, with Szymon Wozniak bagging five paid six.

In Friday’s other meeting, four-time Speedway GP world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik raced to 14 points for Lublin as they sealed top spot in the pre-play-off table with a 47-43 win away to Zielona Gora.

Zmarzlik dropped just a point from five outings, with double SGP2 champion Mateusz Cierniak collecting nine paid 11 and Speedway GP star Dominik Kubera scoring eight paid nine. Fredrik Lindgren registered six, with Jack Holder adding four paid five.

Former Danish champion Rasmus Jensen was Falubaz’s top scorer on 11, with former world No.2 Jaroslaw Hampel tallying 10 and Przemyslaw Pawlicki collecting nine. Jan Kvech added six paid seven.
