BEWLEY EYES SUNDAY RACING RETURN AFTER CRASH
29/07/2024

Great Britain star Dan Bewley hopes to return to racing in Poland this Sunday after confirming he has been signed off with concussion.
The Cumbrian crashed after running into stricken Leicester man Max Fricke in heat six of British club Belle Vue’s 55-35 loss away to the Lions last Thursday.
While Fricke continued to race that night, Bewley was forced to withdraw from the remainder of the meeting. He sat out his Polish club Wroclaw’s 47-43 loss at Leszno on Sunday but hopes to make his return to action when Sparta travels to Gorzow in the PGE Ekstraliga next Sunday.
Updating fans on his condition via Instagram stories, Bewley said: “Hey everyone, I just wanted to say thank you for all the messages.
“As most of you know, I was in a crash on Thursday, and I have been signed out for nine days with concussion. All being well, I will be back next Sunday. I have been feeling better over the last couple of days. I just have a little bit of bruising and stuff. But I had a CT scan, and it was all clear, so we are all good there.
“I am going to miss a few meetings, so I just wish my teammates and my teams well for the next few meetings. I hope to be back soon. The plan is Gorzow next Sunday and all being well, I’ll be there. It’s looking well.
“Thanks for all of the messages. I hope to see you soon and I hope for a good end to the season.”
A racing return on Sunday would come as a huge boost to Bewley as the FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Cardiff approaches on August 17, with the Aces racer seeking to repeat his famous 2022 victory at Principality Stadium.
