Speedway GP quartet Bartosz Zmarzlik, Fredrik Lindgren, Jack Holder and Dominik Kubera launch their PGE Ekstraliga title defence when Lublin travels away to Zielona Gora on Friday, April 11.

The 2025 fixture list for Poland’s top flight has been revealed, with Lublin in action on the opening day as they chase what would be a fourth straight PGE Ekstraliga gold medal.

The opening day also sees Czestochowa signing Jason Doyle lead his new side into battle at home to his 2024 team Grudziadz, who are spearheaded by returning Speedway GP star Max Fricke.

FIM Speedway of Nations host club Torun – led by SGP trio Robert Lambert, Mikkel Michelsen and Jan Kvech – welcomes a Wroclaw team featuring new world No.4 Dan Bewley and Brady Kurtz to the Marian Rose Motoarena for their opening match of the season on Sunday, April 13.

Meanwhile, a Gorzow side starring Martin Vaculik, Anders Thomsen and new signing Andzejs Lebedevs heads to newly-promoted Rybnik on the same day.

In a change of format for 2025, the eight PGE Ekstraliga teams meet home and away once, before the league splits into two for the final phase, which sees the top four clubs battle for the championship and the bottom four race to avoid relegation.

Clubs in both halves of the table line up in semi-finals ties over two legs. The winners of the championship play-off semis race for the gold medals, with the losing teams competing in the bronze-medal match.

In the bottom half of the table, the two semi-final losers compete in a brand-new play-out tie, with the losing team relegated to Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga and the winning side entering a showdown with the second-tier play-off runner-up for the right to compete in the 2026 PGE Ekstraliga. The Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga play-off winners gain automatic promotion to the top tier.

The PGE Ekstraliga season gets underway with the International Individual Ekstraliga Championship (IMME), featuring a host of Speedway GP riders, on Friday, April 4 with the venue to be confirmed.
